NEW! Button Station by Gina B Silkworks
$15.99 Coming soon
This handy little station is perfect for button-making!
Complete with a "Third Hand" clip and 2 acrylic rods, this station is designed for use on the table to aid in button making.
The acrylic rods act as posts to hold your balls or spools of thread to allow free movement.
The Third Hand is inspired by a foot-operated button-holding tool traditionally used in Austria when decorating ring buttons. This clip will come in handy for a variety of button-making tasks—even if only holding the button you are working on while you thread your needle.
The Third Hand has a magnetic base. The station includes a steel disc for the clip to attach to. It is great for holding wrapped buttons while you thread a needle or even holding ring buttons while you work French knots—perfect for those Dorset button trees!
(The magnet will also hold your needles, of course)
A neat recess on the station allows you to clamp it to your desk (clamp not supplied). This means you can use the pair of posts to hold warps for satin wrapping at tension and even combine the posts and "Third Hand" to hold threads at tension while working other advanced techniques such as "gorl".
The base even has felt circles to protect your work surface.
Originally designed for Gina's in-person workshops, they have proved a hit with attendees.
